Dr Paula Lam has extensive research experience in developing novel vectors, encompassing viral- and cell-based approaches, to advance targeted therapies against cancer. Dr Lam is the Associate Editor of Cancer Immunity and Immunotherapy (Specialty Section of Frontiers in Immunology and Frontiers in Oncology) and actively serves as an ad-hoc reviewer to international peer-reviewed scientific journals. She also serves as the subject matter expert on viral vectors within the academic cluster institutions (SingHealth) in Singapore. In her earlier roles, she has served as the international committee member of the American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy as well as various grant review committees.
Dr Lam received her postdoctoral training at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital (Tennessee, USA), the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong) and Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston, USA), and before returning to Singapore as a group leader at the National Cancer Centre. She was the recipient of 14th ASM Young Scientist Award, Singapore General Hospital, 2003, NMRC-Hong Leong Foundation Medical Research Scientist Award, 2005 and Awardee of the Talent Development Fund, Singhealth, 2006. She has contributed towards original scientific publications and patents while providing mentorship to many postgraduate, graduate, and undergraduate students.
